Please note that as Montserrat is an Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom, the Governor's Office does not provide consular services as are provided in foreign countries.

The Government of Montserrat's Department of Administration based at Government Headquarters in Brades has a consular section which currently deals with Overseas Territories Passport queries, matters relating to naturalisation, and the renewal of full British (EU) passports. Montserrat has strategically placed sirens island wide capable of delivering voice messages in the event of a volcanic eruption or other emergency. If the sirens sound please follow the instructions that are voiced and, in addition, tune into Radio Montserrat at 88.3 or 95.5 FM for further instructions.

The local authorities in Montserrat lead on consular assistance, and should be the first port of call for visitors. The Governor’s Office will work to support their efforts in cases of genuine emergency, and will provide support as requested by the local authorities.
